Proposed Projects for 2020
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Colossians 3:17 NIV
It's our honor to serve New Kent County through our Inasmuch Day!
Everyone is welcome to take part in these projects (list subject to change):
Back to School Bash
At Corinth Baptist Church (11650 New Kent Highway, New Kent, Virginia 23124) from 10am through 2pm (time subject to change) we will be offering free clothing and backpacks loaded with supplies to the school children in the community. We will be offering three options for guests to choose; more information can be found here.
In addition to giving out items, we will gladly accept any clothing, backpacks, and/or school supplies that people wish to donate as well. However, bringing items to donate is NOT required or expected.
Canned Food Drive
Volunteers will be collecting (if the local stores still allow us to do so) canned goods and non-perishable food items from those shopping at local stores in the area from 8:30am to 12pm. All collected items will be given to the Kentwood Heights Baptist Church food pantry to help those in need. Everyone is welcome to stop by one of the locations and contribute food.
Red Cross Blood Drive
We be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at Corinth Baptist Church (11650 New Kent Highway, New Kent, Virginia 23124). Everyone is welcome to stop by and donate, although they encourage everyone to sign up for an appointment in advance. The link to sign up online will be provided once available. Due to the current pandemic, there is an urgent need for donations.
In addition to the projects above, our volunteers will also be:
Blessing Bags for the local fire and police departments
A group will be preparing and delivering bags of food and supplies to the local New Kent Fire Department and New Kent Sheriff's Department.
Sewing Pillowcases for a local children's hospital
Volunteers prep and sew pillowcases for the patients at CHKD, children ages 2-18, in the hope that it will be a bright spot in a dark time in their lives.
