Proposed Projects for 2019

Everyone is welcome to take part in these projects (list subject to change):
Back to School Bash
At Corinth Baptist Church (11650 New Kent Highway, New Kent, Virginia 23124) from 8am through 11am we will be offering free clothing and backpacks loaded with supplies to the school children in the community. Free breakfast and bounce house will also provided for all who attend. Children must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies; children do NOT need to be present to receive clothing.
In addition to giving out items, we will gladly accept any clothing, backpacks, and/or school supplies that people wish to donate as well. However, bringing items to donate is NOT required or expected.
Canned Food Drive
Volunteers will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items from those shopping at local stores in the area from 8:30am to 12pm. All collected items will be given to the Kentwood Heights Baptist Church food pantry to help those in need. Everyone is welcome to stop by one of the locations and contribute food.
Teacher Supplies Drive
Volunteers will be collecting school supply items from those shopping at the dollar store locations in New Kent County from 8:30am to 12pm. All collected items will be given to teachers at New Kent Elementary School and George Watkins Elementary School to help teachers stock their classrooms. Everyone is welcome to stop by one of the locations and contribute items from the list of needs.
Red Cross Blood Drive
From 9am t0 12pm we be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at Corinth Baptist Church (11650 New Kent Highway, New Kent, Virginia 23124). Everyone is welcome to stop by and donate, although they encourage everyone to sign up for an appointment in advance. The link to sign up online will be provided once available.
In addition to the projects above, our volunteers will also be:
A team of volunteers will be visiting the West Point Convalescent Center to share God's love with the residents there.
Singing for Shut-Ins
Volunteers will visit the homes of shut-ins and singing hymns with them.
Blessing Bags for the Homeless
A group will be preparing and delivering bags of food, water, and supplies for homeless people in Richmond.
Two teams of volunteers go out into the community and make repairs on homes where the owner is unable to complete the work on their own. If you know anyone who has a need please send us a message with that information and we'll be happy to review it! (Resources are limited and although we want to, we are not always able to assist with every project that we're presented with)
Sewing Pillowcases for CHKD
Volunteers prep and sew pillowcases for the patients at CHKD, children ages 2-18, in the hope that it will be a bright spot in a dark time in their lives.
Crocheting Hats for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
A group of volunteers will prep and crochet hats for babies in the NICU at MCV Hospital.
